Nirvana Wine and Grillerie owner, Alaine Lubin, created her restaurant from an eclectic background which she reflects in the menu, wines, and ambience – her concept of Nirvana defined as “Pure Bliss.”
From her childhood in East Rogers Park, Chicago, surrounded by diversity and ethnicity, to her adulthood as an Accountant and then a Health Club operator, Personal Trainer, and novice Triathlete, Alaine has developed a unique style of tastes and culture at Nirvana. Alaine tells friends “Attempting to find super fresh, healthier fare at the chain restaurants in the area was a next to impossible task. I finally decided to stop asking for the restaurants to change and created the change that I, and many others, crave.”
Nirvana lures guests with delicious world flavors, utilizing the freshest foods and herbs in naturally healthful combinations. There is absolutely no deep fryer on the premises. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available in addition to amazing artisan cheese flights, pastas, salads, panini's, fresh fish and meat dishes. Over 35 tempting wines are available by the glass or bottle along with wine flights, martinis, and a full premium bar.
The ambience is warm, energetic and eclectic. There is an energy which draws one into this urban concept, found in an unlikely strip mall in the suburbs. Live musicians perform nightly to a candle lit room filled with Nirvana’s embraced philosophy “Be Who You Really Are,” which is scripted on the wall.
There is an essence in each of us which reaches for a place of feeling good from within. Nirvana enhances what is already there and brings to guests a variety of experiences for the senses. Pure Bliss? Maybe for some, but for others, it is a damn good time.
